Get to know the ‘make-up’ side of me.

Before I go travelling I thought it was only right to introduce you to my make-up side. It only seemed right as I basically do make-up everyday, as it’s my job.

If you follow my Instagram @thatwanderlustboho you will see in my bio that i’m a make-up artist. You will also know that I work at MAC if you read my last blog post My reasons to travel the world. Β

Working at MAC is one of the best things to happen to me. I’ve worked at MAC for almost 2 years and it has been pretty amazing so far.

But, how did I get to where I am now?

To get my dream job I did a part time theatrical make-up diploma. While I was at college I had to get a temporary job. And that job was, McDonald’s! I know what you’re thinking, how did I go from McDonald’s to MAC? Well, it turned out my temporary job at McDonald’s wasn’t actually that temporary at all. I worked at McDonald’s for 5 long years. Whilst working there I worked at 3 different locations and worked my way up to manager. I enjoyed it for a while but it was hard. I don’t think people realise the stress you are put through. As much as I wanted to leave in the end, I can’t knock it as it got me to where I am today.

It took me a long time to realise what I wanted to do. I wasn’t very confident and the thought of actually getting a job at MAC seemed impossible to me. That was until I met my brother’s friend, who is now my friend, and pushed me to go for the job. (She helped me so much, I’m still thankful to this day). So, I applied. And, hurrah! I got the job.

I will skip all the details of how I did this, for now, as this will be a good blog post in future πŸ˜‰

So, why MAC? To me MAC is the Holy Grail when it comes to make-up. There wasn’t any other brand I wanted to work for. My make-up bag mainly consists of Β MAC products and I love what MAC stands for as a company.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know my Β make-up side. I will now leave you with a really vain instagram make-up selfie….
